CDN Audio/Visual Refrigerator/Freezer Alarm [TA20]
- Product Review (submitted on July 11, 2013):
- Our appliances are all older and I've thought on more than occasion about getting one of these. When I saw they were $26 for a pair on their site, I jumped right in. Setup is easy - just slide the switches to freezer or refrigerator, put the sensor inside, mount the Velcro, and away you go. The refrigerator does tend to alarm a bit much when the door is open for >20 seconds or so. Ideally, I'd put it in a little container of something benign like rice or dried beans. That would 'dampen' the temperature reading so it doesn't alarm when the door is open for a few seconds. The only thing I haven't liked is the suction cup. It simply doesn't stick to a cold surface for very long. I took mine off and tucked the sensor in to a crevice on the fridge. For the deep freeze, I just let it dangle down through the top door.
